I'm thinking of having plastic surgery. What could possibly go wrong?
Plastic surgery seems to be a no no in Hollywood.
Why? What's the stigma? So what if they've had a nip here and a tuck there. Doesn't make them a bad person. Vain maybe. Or they want to keep working. Hollywood is a cruel place to make a living from.
Apart from loving her music - I admire Cher for admitting she has had work done on her face and body. One of my favourite videos of her is - If I could turn back time -
Michael Jackson is one celeb that unfortunately took plastic surgery to an extreme -
and paid a heavy price for his obsession about how he looked.
What abut ordinary people, who don't have mega bucks, but want to have a boob or nose job - where do they go to ?
There are a lot of places the not so rich can go to get affordable plastic surgery.
This is a great article in The Richest - on where to have plastic surgery -
The Richest
Surprisingly the US and the UK are not on the list.....
Maybe the celebs who are set against having plastic surgery have good reason to be -
Jocelyn Weinstein - is a prime example of plastic surgery gone wrong - from this to this -

Sadly she's not alone -
Donatella Versace now reminds be of a wraith from the television program Stargate Atlantis -
see what I mean -
only I think the wraith is better looking.
For all the thousands of operations, only a small percentage go wrong. But it is very important to check out your surgeon and his practise before you book yourself in for a make-over. You can find out about your plastic surgeon in the UK through The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons - BAAPS - here's the link to their website -

Approximately, 1 in 5 of people who have plastic surgery are unhappy with the results. A lot of money, and a lot of pain, recovery from plastic surgery can take up to several weeks, just to be dissatisfied with the results.

Plastic surgery to repair physical damage or to help in disfigurement, is a worthwhile thing.
Cosmetic surgery that causes disfigurement, is, in my opinion a sad misuse of a surgeon's skill.
Having your boobs enlarged. Is it really a good idea to have silicone gel inside your body? No - not if it ruptures, it's not.
Don't get me started on what I think about 'Trout Lips' - the word ridiculous springs immediately to mind.

I'm not bitching that no one should have cosmetic surgery, if they want to. It's that I can think of a lot of better things to do with £100,000, than spend it, only to be disappointed.
So now that I know a bit more about having a face-lift, than I did before, I won't bother with cosmetic surgery - I think I'll head for the gym instead. Eat well. Get enough sleep. Don't drink too much alcohol. And grow old gracefully.
Have you had cosmetic surgery? Were you pleased with the result or was it a waste of money?
