The sweet kiss of death?

If you are trying to downsize your excess weight - and choose sweeteners in preference to sugar - then think again.

There are five dangerous sugar substitutes that are approved for consumer use: saccharin, neotameacesulfame potassiumaspartame, and sucralose. Of the five main artificial sweeteners, sucralose and aspartame are the most pervasive and dangerous substitutes found in products on store shelves today.

The evidence against sweeteners makes for disturbing reading.

A lot of research has been carried out into the side effects of sweeteners, unfortunately like a lot of foodstuffs that have a high degree of profitability attached to them, there are many 'experts' who would have you believe that these substances are harmless.

Independent research more often than not, does not agree with this.

As diet sodas account for a high proportion of artificial sweetener consumption - let's concentrate on them.

And let's begin with how they get their fizz.

If you drink a can of soda you are basically drinking carbon dioxide gas (CO2) - or the stuff that is said to be a factor in causing global warming.

Research suggests that drinking soda water is not harmful - apart from maybe causing digestive problems, such as heart-burn.

Aspartame seems to be the lead sweetener, so I'll concentrate on this.

Aspartame is a Neurotoxin, found in brands such as NutraSweet, which is extensively used by people wanting to reduce weight.

If you look at this list from  Energy Fanatics - of 10 Neurotoxins to avoid, you will see that Aspartame is top of the list -

# 1 - on the list is Aspartame.

# 3 - Sucralose -  another sweetener.

# 4 - is Mercury. Who in their right mind would put Mercury into themselves. Manufacturers of flu jabs for a start. But that's for a future article.

 # 5 -  Aluminium. Also in vaccines.

A list of ten neurotoxins to avoid

  1. Aspartame (also known as Equal, AminoSweet, NutraSweet, Spoonful): Very common in sugar-free food products, especially sugar-free gums and drinks. Most aspartame is made from the fecal matter of genetically modified bacteria. Studies have linked aspartame to diabetes, migraines, kidney failure, seizures, blindness, obesity, neurological disorders, mental illness and brain tumors.
  2. Monosodium glutamate (also known as sodium glutamate, MSG): Very common in chips, canned food, baby food and other junk food. Independent researchers believe that MSG plays an important role in neurodegenerative brain disease, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease. The evidence supporting their claim is that MSG destroys neurons in cells, especially brain cells.
  3. Sucralose (also known as Splenda): An artificial sweetener that is very popular in sugar-free products, especially sugar-free drinks. Sucralose was accidentally discovered while doing research to create a new insecticide, which is why some researchers suggested that sucralose should be listed in the insecticide category. This neurotoxin is regarded as a chemical cousin to DDT. Sucralose is a chlorinated compound. When the body breaks this type of chlorinated compound, it releases toxic chemicals.
  4. Aluminum: This type of metal is common in drinking water, over-the-counter antacid and vaccine. Aluminum is hard for the body to absorb, but citrate or citric acid can dramatically increase its absorption. Vaccine is one of the major contributors to aluminum toxicity, because the aluminum is injected directly into the body.
  5. Mercury: This heavy metal is common in fish products, vaccine and amalgam fillings (also known as silver fillings). Mercury can be found in drinking water too. Mercury is one of the most toxic neurotoxins, because it easily destroys brain tissue. For an excellent short video showing how mercury destroys brain tissue, read this article titled How Mercury Destroys the Brain.
  6. Fluoride (sodium fluoride): This toxin is very common in drinking water and conventional toothpaste. Fluoride was used to kill rats before it was introduced into consumer products. The fluoride used for consumer products is a mixture of many hazardous chemicals. It is known as sodium fluoride, not to be confused with the natural calcium fluoride. This is why there are warning labels on fluoridated toothpaste. For proof that fluoride is a hazardous toxin, read this article.
  7. Hydrolyzed vegetable protein: This harmful food ingredient is very common in certain junk food. Hydrolyzed vegetable protein contains high concentrations of glutamate and aspartate. In high levels, glutamate and aspartate can stimulate nerve cells to death.
  8. Calcium caseinate: This toxin is popular in protein supplement, energy bar and junk food. It is harmful to the brain due to its neurotoxic properties.
  9. Sodium caseinate: This type of protein is common in dairy products and junk food. It has been linked to autism and gastrointestinal problems. Visit this site for more specific information about sodium caseinate and calcium caseinate.
  10. Yeast extract: A popular food ingredients in many processed food, such as canned food. It is toxic to the brain.

As I said, I'm concentrating on artificial sweeteners - but going down that list, and checking out the everyday products we unwittingly consume, makes for very worrisome reading.

On top of artificial sweeteners being Neurotoxins - they also have some very nasty side effects ----

Sweeteners have been linked to Alzheimer. To obesity, and diabetes among other increasingly problematic health issues.

Sweeteners actually make you gain weight!

'But can't I switch to plant based sweeteners instead?'

Bad news, they are no better than other sweeteners. It's not the plant that's the problem, but that it's chemically processed into a sweetener just like all the others.

There are many different brand names for Stevia. When you buy any of these it is highly probably that you are buying a blend that is 99.8% Erythritol, a sugar alcohol found in fruit and fermented foods.

Xylitol is made from either birch tree bark or corn cob, and claims to be suitable for diabetics - Xylitol Official Web-Site
To balance those claims, here is an interesting article about Xylitol from - Diabetes Meal Plans

Okay - so, here we are, suddenly thinking, shit, how am I going to get my sugar fix?  There is a ray of hope for all you sweet toothed types - you know what I'm going to say -

Self-Hypnosis.

The only way to beat your sugar craving is to convince your subconscious mind that you no longer want to have the craving.

We don't need sugar to survive. There's nothing nutritious about sugar - it's not important to your well being - just the opposite. The unnecessary need to eat something sweet will keep you from freeing yourself of being overweight.

Throw away your thoughts of wanting to eat sugar or artificially sweetened foods - make your mind body connection to wanting natural sweet foods like fruit.

Stay safe and stay healthy,
