5 ways to look fabulous

You are fabulous - but here's my hot tips on how you can get even more fabulous than you already are.
# 1 - You are what you eat - keep eating on the 'run' to a minimum. Eating on the run usually means vitamin deficient snack food.
Sitting down to eat a proper meal may take longer, but it will pay huge dividends when it comes to healthy looking skin.
Poor diet ages skin - so does dehydration. The recommended level of water that a woman should drink each day is approximately 1.6 litres. Of course, the amount of water you need to drink can vary - I just make sure I am never thirsty.
Alcohol is a killer when it comes to healthy looking skin - too much booze deprives the skin of vital vitamins and nutrients. Over indulging in alcohol causes dilation of your blood vessels, and over time this can lead to spider web veins on your face, and a permanently swollen nose. If that isn't bad enough, excessive alcohol ages how you look by increasing the amount of wrinkles you have. It's also hellishly fattening.
There's nothing pretty about a drunk -

# 2 - It's not called beauty sleep for nothing. An adult needs approximately 9 to 8 hours sleep per night. Too little sleep can lead to loss of appetite, irritability caused by tiredness, and difficulty in concentrating.
Hot tip - if you don't get to sleep easily. Go to bed an hour earlier than usual, and practise self-hypnosis to relax your mind into falling asleep.
In my career as a Clinical Hypnotherapist - I have taught this simple but effective exercise to my clients to help them sleep. I call it - the count to ten method.
It is important to connect to your subconscious mind, so that you can give it the instruction that you want to sleep. First though, you have to 'still your mind'.
Here's how you do it.
Get yourself into comfortable position and close your eyes. No matter that you have the light turned off - closing the eyes is a signal to your subconscious that you want to sleep.

Don't think yourself relaxed - feel yourself relaxed.
Ideally the room should be quiet, but if there is someone snoring next to you - (maybe the reason you can't sleep) - this relaxation technique will help you shut out the noise.
Your eyes are closed and you are comfortable. Start by visualising a golden ball of light entering into you from the top of your head. Taking your time, imagine the golden light moving slowly through your head into your neck, and then along your shoulders, and then all the way down your body to your feet. When you get to the tips of your toes imagine all the day's stresses flowing away from you.
This part of the routine is to get your conscious mind connected to your subconscious mind.
Now you are going to talk to your subconscious.
Say to yourself "I am going to count from 1 to 10 - and when I have got to 10, shortly afterwards I shall fall into a peaceful sleep, waking only when I need to.
Count from 1 to 10 slowly - there is every chance than you won't make it to 10 before you fall asleep. If you get to 10 - stay relaxed as sleep is sure come to you soon after.
I use this method when I have difficulty in falling asleep - and it always works.

We all hate bingo wings under our arms - but we don't need to suffer them. Toned upper arms are very sexy especially on a mature woman.
You can exercise weak muscles even if you can't make it to the gym ( or don't want to) - Resistance bands are cheap, easy to use, don't need a lot of space, and an effective way of toning up flabby muscles. These are the type of bands I use -

Kettle bells are also a really good way to exercise and tone up your body.

Swing one up and down and feel the 'burn' -
# 4 - Dump your stress.
Worry shows on the face and makes you look old.
I can't emphasise enough how fantastic meditative relaxation is when it comes to de-stressing the mind.

| Old young woman looking in mirror by -Tom Hussey |
Looking in the mirror and seeing your face slowly creep toward old age lined with unwanted wrinkles, is something, we can at last do something about without resorting to surgery or Botox.
Facial exercises - the theory behind the idea of facial exercises is quite simple. As we age our facial skin loses it's elasticity, and the fat between the muscle and the skin becomes thinner.
As the skin sags, the fat underneath the skin slides, causing the face to fall down. By doing facial exercises the facial muscles grow, and become firmer making the skin tighten, and the wrinkles smooth out.
The earlier you start facial exercises the better. Since I started doing the exercises my skin has taken on a glow, and the lines are definitely softer.
I began with facial exercises, but I now include in my facial exercise routine - facial yoga - I have found that the combination of the two works best for me.
- this is the basic routine - it's important to listen to the complete exercise routines - as she explains how to do the exercises, so that you don't create more lines!
