Losing your bikini figure now that's summer's over?

Is all that weight you reduced to look good in a bikini now starting to creep back on?

'Why?' You ask yourself, 'After having lost weight am I gaining it again?'

Answer - that wretched word - lost.

So - what's in a word?

When it comes to your subconscious a great deal – because by using the word – loss you send your subconscious a wrong set of instructions.

Loss is a negative word - and it's a diet breaker.

This seemingly innocent little word – loss – is not so innocent when it comes to you  permanently succeeding in throwing away those excess pounds.

Why?

If you lose something, don't you spend your time looking for it?

As I have said many times before, your subconscious is not a logical thinking machine. It does not recognise that you don't want to regain your 'lost' weight - it only sees that you have lost something.

Using the 'L' word when thinking, and talking about your weight reduction gives your subconscious the idea to start re-finding that weight.

Thinking of your weight reduction in the terms of loss, is one of the prime reasons  you yo-yo diet.

No matter what diet you go on, you are going to lose weight. And here it is again that word – lose. It's in every magazine article, every book published, and I am sorry to say, even many hypnotherapists use the word without thinking of the impact it is having on your subconscious mind.

It creeps in and causes all sorts of unwanted ideas that your subconscious could well do without.

I have succeeded in dumping my excess fat without the pangs of a tortured stomach or feelings of deprivation. And the best bit – I've not put any of the weight I have discarded back on again.

So what’s the Secret?

Get your imagination (the language of the subconscious) to work for you – not against you.

Using your inner resources you create a whole new way of thinking, and approaching how you reduce your excess weight.

We have two thinking processes. Our subconscious mind, and our conscious mind.

The subconscious mind remembers, and learns from all the experiences you have in your life – the good and the bad – it makes no distinction between either. The language the subconscious uses is - imagination.

The conscious mind is the action mind. It's the mind that does the doing rather than the thinking. Its language is - guess what? Willpower - oops!

It’s not always hunger that makes you break a diet.

The real diet buster is, imagination, and it usually wins over poor old willpower.

Your conscious mind, and your willpower is telling you that you don’t want to break your diet - that you don’t want a glass of wine or a slice of chocolate cake or whatever is your usual reason for slipping off your weight reduction program, and putting back those unwanted pounds.

The problem is – your conscious mind, and your subconscious minds are at war with each other.

And it's an unfair battle because your subconscious is using your own imagination against you.

It takes from your memories the pleasure you once got from a drinking of glass or a lovely sweet sponge cake. Yum - and pretty soon its to heck with the diet – ‘one won’t hurt’ - you know what I’m talking about.

All that hard work, all that going without and you are back to square one – again!

Sound familiar?

Your own subconscious holds the key to your success or failure because it reacts to imagination, taking every piece of information you have ever experienced, storing it away for future reference.
Your memory says you like chocolate cake. The fact that eating the chocolate cake will keep you fat doesn't bother the subconscious, it simply knows that chocolate cake gives you pleasure, no matter how momentary.

Fortunately, although the subconscious mind is an illogical memory machine, and once it has an idea in place it goes with it no matter what – you can change that idea and put a better one is put in place. How? By using self-hypnosis – simple really.

Seeing yourself in your minds eye enjoying the sight, smell, feel and taste of the cake tells the subconscious only one thing – EATING CAKE IS A GOOD THING.

Therefore ‘Let them eat cake’ and we do, along with all the other high sugared over processed junk food we can get our eager hands on

So what can we do about it?

What weapons can we deploy!

THE SUBCONSCIOUS OF COURSE!

If you lose something what usually happens? You look to find whatever it is you have lost.

You’ve lost your weight, so your subconscious will look to replace it.

This is why 97% of diets don't work long-term, and back come those unwanted pounds of flab.

And this is where self-hypnosis comes to your rescue. Practise self-hypnosis, connect to your subconscious, and give it a whole new set of ideas.

There are countless books about how to lose weight - losing weight is not that difficult. The difficulty is in keeping the lost weight from coming back on again.

Trouble is, most of these books, if not all of them, overlook the one fundamental thing – if you don't tell your subconscious that you want to reduce weight and never get it back again – you will fail in your goal before you have even started.

You don't want to lose your excess weight – You want to throw it away. You want to dump it. Discard it. Chuck it. Toss it. And NEVER – EVER - find it again.

By harnessing the power of your subconscious mind to change your life for the better. Whether you want to downsize or change some different aspect about yourself.

YouTube is a great resource in finding hypnosis sessions. Michael Sealey - is my favourite hypnotist. The tone of his voice, the way he delivers his therapy scripts, is, (in my opinion), by far the best on YouTube.

Okay - the title of this video does use the 'L' word - but I've listened to it, and like all Michael Sealey's hypnosis sessions, I have found it to be effective.

The great thing about listening to this - is it's free. With the average cost of a hypnosis session in the UK at £75, not including the cost of travel to get to the hypnotist, it makes sense to check out YouTube.

If you are worried about using hypnosis because you have either seen a stage hypnotist, or you simple worry that your mind will be controlled by an outside influence  - let me bust some myths for you.

Firstly a stage hypnotist - is just an act. Cleverly done because the hypnotist in a way does hypnotise his 'subjects' but not in the way he pretends to. He uses the individuals ego to get his participants to do what he tells them to do, no matter how outlandish. It works like this -

At the beginning of the show he asks the whole audience some random questions, then he selects a group from the audience, telling them they have been chosen because they passed the 'test' and are the most intelligent of the audience. He then gives the group a short talk along the lines of, 'The more intelligent you are the more susceptible to hypnosis you are. Anyone with low intelligence will not be able to participate.' - From then on no one will admit they were not hypnotised, but were going along with what the stage hypnotist asked them to do, so as not to look as thick as a plank. Each stage hypnotist has a different way of 'tricking' the participants - but it all adds up to the same thing - it is impossible to force a hypnotised subject into doing something that is against either their belief system or something they simply do not wish to do.

You are at all times in control of your mind when being hypnotised, because no one but you is connected to your own thoughts. Actually you are more aware of what is going on during an hypnosis session. Hearing tends to become more acute, your senses are intensified. It has all to do with having connected to your subconscious.
Hypnosis is proven to be very beneficial for a number of things - stop smoking - weight reduction - taking the driving test - fears - feelings of anxiety and self-confidence issues, and much more.

I once helped a lady who was terrified of cats. If she was sitting at a table and saw a cat in the distance she would draw her legs up off the floor. She lived in terror of seeing a cat when she went out. We had one session together, by the end of the session, she was happy for one of my (many) cats to rub himself against her leg. She even bent down to pet him.

Before you start your hypnosis session, there are a few things you have to do before you begin -
#1 Make sure you are not going to be disturbed. So be sure to remember to turn off your phone.
#2 Find a comfortable place to relax in. Chair or bed, whatever is best for you.
#3 If there are other people in the house, tell them it is important you are not interrupted until you have finished the session.
#4 Sit back. Relax and enjoy.

I've included this short motivational video by Mel Robbins, for the simple reason that her method is simple and effective. It's not hypnosis, but it's as good as.

Have a great day - a brilliant weekend - and a wonderful life.
